Celtic Colours International Festival

Cape Breton. The concert will also be live streamed.

Nobody makes music together like friends and family. Siblings Shannon, Solon, and Jeremiah McDade grew up playing folk music alongside their parents. With vocal harmonies that can only come from a family, award-winning Alberta group The McDades’ sound is immersed in the spirit of improvisation, and their compositions and innovative arrangements are characterized by stunning virtuosity and a near-telepathic interaction on stage. Chéticamp singer and songwriter Sylvia LeLièvre and guitarist Marcel LeFort have been making music together since they were teenagers playing in the band The Phantoms during the 1960s. Their musical connection has only gotten stronger in the decades that followed. And making their Celtic Colours debut this year is award-winning sibling trio The Gilberts whose emotionally-impactful songs and arrangements are infused with choral, Celtic, and country influences, wrapped up in harmonies that can only come from family.
